Having said that, I was reading one of my favorite blogs, The Cooking Photographer, the other day and Laura had posted a story about her Dulce De Leche Apple Pie....
Well one look at the photos and I had to do it! It was going to be a challenge, but one I was ready for...
I took some of these, and boiled them for four hours and let them cool for two. The actual instructions are here.
It made this. YUMMY!!!! I will never use store bought again!!!!
Then I took some of these. I peeled, cored and sliced them ( oh yeah... I bought a new kitchen gadget here ) in less than 3 minutes, mixed them with some love and creativity and This Recipe from The Cooking Photographer.and got this...
Threw the top crust on and popped it in the oven. Now it looks like this...
I do apologize, but I do not have a photo of the inside because it has to cool for a few hours and then I'm giving it to my friend Eric for his housewarming.... But I'm going to bake another one and take it to work for the ladies who lunch and I'll let you know how it tastes.
I can say, however, that if it tastes half as good as it smells.... Seriously, Deliriously!!!

Hey Mister! Sorry I've been kinda quiet but been loaded with work and house guests. This stopped me in my tracks! LOOK AT YOUR PIE!!! It's freakin' perfect! Well done, sir... well done! Any flavor feedback yet? I'm drooling here on the other side of the country.

Beefy, I don't know if you'll get this because, honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing on this Blog still. I didn't even find this comment until today!!!! The pis was Delicioso and I have made about 6 since the first one and everyone who received one LOVED it.
I too have been away from the Blogosphere but will be returning with new posts hopefully this weekend and continuing into the New year with some New Ideas and fun stuff!!! See you around Uncle!!!
